Careers at GS

George School is a Quaker, all-gender boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 located in Newtown, PA.

Rooted in the belief that all have a divine spark, the George School Experience aims to inspire a dynamic relationship between self-awareness and social cohesion. Alongside encouraging each “to let their lives speak,” George School endeavors to equip those gathered here to be deep listeners – to others and to themselves.

George School is committed to inclusiveness and equal opportunity and does not discriminate in its admission, educational, or employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

We actively encourage candidates of color, LGBTQ+ candidates, and candidates from communities that are historically marginalized and underrepresented in independent schools. We seek candidates who can show a commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community, a working style consistent with Quaker values, a demonstrated commitment to working towards antiracism, and developing and practicing cultural competency.

Our goal is to be a community where people with vastly different backgrounds, identities, and perspectives thrive, are treated equitably, and are united in their mutual respect, and the pursuit of a common good. This belief is reflected in the school’s motto, “Mind the Light.”

George School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools.
